Emergency Assist

Emergency Assist

Emergency Assist helps the driver in particular hazardous situations. The system monitors the driver’s inputs – such as accelerator pedal, brake and steering, and helps, within the system’s limits, to prevent accidents and mitigate the potential consequences of an accident.

The automatic distance control ACC and Lane Assist work hand in hand to this end.

If the driver fails to respond, the system prompts the driver, by means of continual brake jolts, to correct the steering and automatically applies the brakes.

ACC monitors the distance to the vehicle ahead while Lane Assist ensures the vehicle stays within its lane.

Emergency Assist alerts other road users by means of warning flashes and gentle steering movements and safely brakes the vehicle – right down to a standstill.

Of course, the driver can override the assistance function at any time and regain control of the vehicle.
