EBD

EBD

Every vehicle’s centre of gravity shifts forwards when the brakes are applied. This presents a risk of the rear wheels tending to lock up due to the reduction in traction. Electronic brake force distribution uses the solenoid valves in the ABS unit to regulate the braking power at the rear wheels, thereby ensuring maximum braking performance at both the front and rear wheels and, under normal conditions, preventing the rear end from swerving out because of over-braking at the rear wheels.

Electronic brake force distribution operates as part of the ABS function. The EBD operating range ends at the point where ABS control cuts in.
