Shaping the future of China’s electric mobility together

Volkswagen AG and the Chinese vehicle manufacturer Anhui Jianghuai Automobile (JAC) have signed a memorandum of understanding. The agreement is aimed at long-term cooperation, the joint development of all-electric vehicles and emission-free mobility solutions in China. Volkswagen AG and JAC will also discuss the feasibility of establishing a new joint venture focused on new energy vehicles (NEVs).

“We’re looking forward to the broad-based cooperation with the Volkswagen Group. The focus is on new energy vehicles to provide our Chinese customers with highly cost-effective, battery-driven electric vehicles and high-quality mobility services,” commented An Jin, Chairman of Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Co., Ltd.

“Together the Volkswagen Group and JAC will thoroughly explore all possible ways of combining our resources – including our existing and future platforms, technologies and expertise – to develop a competitive product strategy as quickly as possible,” said Prof. Jochem Heizmann, Member of the Board of Management of Volkswagen AG and President and CEO of Volkswagen Group China.
